811 Module Setup - Company Options
The 811 Module allows organizations that receive 811 tickets from Dig Alert, USA North 811, Ohio 811, or other state mandated 811 providers to receive those tickets in NEXGEN. To fully utilize the 811 module, organizations must have an active 811 integration with NEXGEN. Turning on the 811 module will not automatically connect NEXGEN to your existing 811 system.
The benefit of using the 811 module in NEXGEN includes streamlining your responses under one platform (specifically if you already use NEXGEN for maintenance and asset management) and taking advantage of NEXGEN's 811 specific features including standard 811 fields, a unique response zone, cross over with 811 polygons and GIS, and our mobile device options for 811. While this article explains key setup information for the 811 module, organizations should continue to reach out to support@nexgenam.com if they need to make major changes to their existing setup.
Enable the 811 Module
Note: Though enabling the 811 module is an available option in NEXGEN, only organizations with an active 811 integration will be able to see any 811 tickets. To inquire about setting up an 811 integration or for assistance funneling 811 tickets into NEXGEN, please reach out to
support@nexgenam.com to review integration options.
Go to Settings > Setup > Company Options using the blue sidebar.
- Select Additional Modules in the list to the left.
- Click Edit in the top right.
- Turn on the 811 checkbox.
- Click Save.
Enable the 811 Module Activity Feed
The 811 activity feed is a section on an 811 record that logs what activities have been done on the record, who took those actions, and when. The activity feed is only visible on the web but captures edits to 811 tickets on web, tablet, and phone platforms. It is highly recommended that the 811 activity feed is enabled once an organization goes live with their 811 integration.
- Go to Settings > Setup > Company Options using the blue sidebar.
- Select Activity Feed in the list to the left.
- Click Edit in the top right.
- Check off 811.
- Click Save.
811 Lookups
Additional 811 configuration is done in the Lookups module. These configurations include things like creating and editing response codes and 811-specific statuses and priorities.
Navigate to the Lookups Module
Click Settings in the blue sidebar to the left.
- Click Setup.
- Click Lookups.
- To see 811-specific lookups, expand the 811 section of the hierarchy tree in the Lookups module by clicking the arrow next to 811.
Configurable 811 Module Lookups
Status
Select Status to configure the status bar for 811 tickets. You can create and edit new and existing statuses and sub-statuses. Please note that while a number of statuses can be configured in the Lookups module, response dependent statuses are configured via an 811 integration's back-end settings. To update which statuses trigger a response code update to 811, organizations MUST reach out to
support@nexgenam.com.
Priority
You can create and edit priority settings in the Priority section of 811 lookups. Priorities can help staff
Response Codes
When responding to a dig ticket, a response code can be assigned to communicate the outcome of the 811 ticket. This response code reflects on 811 integrations. For more information on response codes and detailed setup steps please see
Configure Response Codes for 811 Tickets - Lookups.
Member Codes
Member codes can be entered when adding a response to the Response zone of an 811 ticket.
