Backflow Module Different Views - Backflow

The Backflow module is a module in NEXGEN that allows users to view all of their Backflow asset information. While users can still use the Asset Inventory module to locate any Backflow assets, the Backflow module makes it easy to view only Backflow related information. You can view this information in three different ways: in List View, Grid View, or Map View.

Viewing Assets in the Backflow Module

  1. Navigate to the Backflow module.
    1. In the blue taskbar, click Assets > Backflow.
    2. View assets in one of the available views: List View, Grid View, and Map View.

List View

In List View, you can view basic information for each asset listed, as well as use the hierarchy tree, filter tab, or search function to locate asset records. As is the case with other modules in NEXGEN, you can add or edit records for each entry in List View.
  1. Search or filter to find the backflow asset you would like to work with. Refer to the articles listed below for help with each method.
    1. Sorting Assets
    2. Finding Assets Using the Hierarchy Tree
    3. Searching for Assets
    4. Filtering Assets
  2. Click on the backflow asset.
  3. You will be taken to the backflow asset's record. Scroll to find the zone you would like to work with and click "Edit" or "Add" to make changes.

Grid View

Grid view is also available for those who would like a spreadsheet-like view of assets in the Backflow module. Here, users can utilize filtering and grouping options to customize their views. You can also edit multiple entries at once by using the Multiple Edit feature, which is unique to Grid View. For a more detailed look at Grid View and its functionalities, visit the Grid View General Help article.

Map View

Using Map View allows users to view assets on a map. For an overview of map tools, refer to this article, which offers a general look at GIS functionalities.

In Map View, you can add new or link existing work orders, preventive maintenance, and more. Use the selection tool from the GIS toolbar, or work using the Backflows tab on the right:
  1. Click the "Backflows" tab on the right.
    1. Two tabs will show: "Backflows" and "Selected." The Backflows tab is a list of assets.
  2. From the Backflows tab, click the checkboxes to select one or multiple backflow assets.
  3. Move to the Selected tab to pull up a list of the assets you chose from the Backflows tab.
  4. From here, you can work with your selected assets.
    1. Click "Add New" to add the following:
      1. Work Orders
      2. Preventive Maintenance
      3. Condition Assessments
      4. Inspections
    2. Click "Add to Existing" to add the following:
      1. Work Orders
      2. Preventive Maintenance
