Run a GIS Query

GIS Queries search GIS assets that are synced within NEXGEN based on GIS parameters. You can can also run a query based on NEXGEN parameters by running a NEXGEN Query. Visit our article Run a NEXGEN Query to learn more.

Run a GIS Query

  1. Navigate to the GIS module. Click Assets > GIS.
  2. Click the magnifying glass icon on the left side menu. 
  3. Under the GIS Query dropdown, select a layer.Screen_Shot_2020-10-05_at_1.02.55_PM.png
  4. Select a GIS field in the 1st dropdown. 
  5. Select an operator in the 2nd dropdown.
  6. Select Value, Field, or Unique. 
    • Value - type any value
    • Field - select from available GIS fields
    • Unique - select from list of unique values in that field in the GIS database
  7. Type or select a value/field in the the last field. 
  8. Add another expression by clicking + Add Another Expression, if desired. From the dropdown, choose to either display features that meet ALL of the expressions or ANY of the expressions.

  10. Assets that meet the filter criteria will be highlighted on the map and listed in the right side menu. Remove any unwanted assets from the selection by clicking the - sign icon. Screen_Shot_2020-10-05_at_12.59.47_PM.png
  11. From here, you have options to:

 

Create a new work order, a preventive maintenance, condition assessments, or inspections for the selected assets.

Note - work orders and preventive maintenance will have all assets attached to one record whereas condition assessments and inspections will have one asset attached per record.  

  1. Click Add New
  2. Select Work Order, Preventive Maintenance, New Condition Assessment, or New Inspection.
  3. Fill out the work order or preventive maintenance details and click Save OR select the assessment or inspection type and click Add

Add the selected assets to an existing work order or preventive maintenance. 

  1. Click Add to Existing
  2. Select Work Order or Preventive Maintenance.
  3. Fill out the work order or preventive maintenance details.
  4. Click Save.

Save the Query for future use.

  2. Give the query a name. 
  3. Click Save Query.
  4. The saved query will show up under the Saved Query list on the left side menu.
