Setup Map and Layers

  1. Go to Settings > GIS
  2. Click on Manage Layers to view the layers already in Nexgen and add new layers (Note: Verify the Layer Names based on your company settings GIS Rest URL Layers)
  3. To add a new map, right click on the main domain level and choose + Add Map. Fill in the Caption and click Save
  4. To add a new layer, right click on the map and choose + Add Layer. Fill in the details (Make sure "Layer Name" matches the Layer Name in the GIS Rest URL. This is case sensitive) and click Save
  5. To edit a layer, right click on the layer and choose Edit Layer. Update the information and click Save
  6. To sync unmapped Assets, go to Settings > GIS > Sync Layers
  7. Select a Layer from the dropdown
  8. Check the Assets that you want to map to the layers and click + Map Selected Layers
  9. To verify the Layers are showing for Assets, go to Assets > Asset Inventory
  10. Click on a GIS Asset
  11. Click on Action > Additional Asset Info
  12. Select a "Map", if not already selected, and then select "Layer"
