Legend and Layers

Legend and Layers

Learn how to turn asset layers on and off to view assets on the map. The legend shows which symbol represents each asset layer on the map.

Video Overview

Asset Layers

In order to view assets on the map, the correct asset layer must be turned on. Layer preferences will be stored per user so each time you come back to the GIS module, layers you previously turned on will remain on until changed.

  1. Navigate to the GIS module. Click Assets > GIS
  2. Click the layers icon to see the layers menu on the left side menu. Turn on asset layers by checking the boxes of the individual layer names. Screen_Shot_2020-02-27_at_4.36.15_PM.png

Note - if layers are grouped, the group box must be checked in order to view any of the selected layers within that group. In the example below, none of the selected layers would be visible on the map because I don't have "Storm" checked.

NEXGEN Tip: Only turn on the layers as need to view them. Turning on too many asset layers can cause the map to load more slowly and can clutter the map, making it hard to view and select assets.
