Locate Assets on the Map and Identify Asset Attributes

Learn how to locate assets on the map and use the Identify tool to view asset attributes. Remember, in order to view assets, the correct asset layer must be turned on. To learn more about asset layers, visit our article Legend and Layers

 

Locate Assets by Panning and Zooming

Use a combination of panning and zooming on the map to get to the desired asset location. 

  1. Navigate to the GIS module. Click Assets > GIS

  3. To pan to a different location on the map, click and drag the map.

 

Locate Assets by Searching for an Address

Search a specific address to view nearby address. 

  1. Navigate to the GIS module. Click Assets > GIS
  2. Search for an address in the search bar in the upper left corner. As you type, addresses will populate in the list below. Select the correct address from the list.
  3. The map will zoom to the searched address. 
  4. View nearby assets.

Note - a pin will be dropped at the searched address giving the option to create a new service request. Ignore the pin in this scenario.

 

Identify Asset Attributes

Use the Identify tool to view the GIS attributes for an asset. The GIS administrator can select which attributes are visible to users. 

  1. Navigate to the GIS module. Click Assets > GIS
  2. Click the Identify tool Screen_Shot_2020-09-30_at_8.37.47_AM.png
  3. Select an asset on the map. 
  4. A window will pop up showing the GIS attributes. Click "Zoom to" to zoom in even further on this asset.
