Define Asset Critical Flag Parameters - Company Options

Instead of manually checking the critical flag on critical assets to mark them as critical, you can have the system automatically apply the flag to assets whose Asset Impact Index (AII) equals or surpasses a certain threshold. This is done in the Company Options section of NEXGEN.

Asset Impact Index and Criticality in NEXGEN

Asset managers hoping to easily enforce asset criticality for assets with an impact index above a certain threshold can use NEXGEN's AM Planning settings to customize which assets are deemed as critical in NEXGEN. For example, if an asset manager wanted to ensure that all assets with an impact score higher than 4 in a 0-5 scale or higher than 8 in a 0-10 scale, they could easily mark all those assets as critical by using this feature. The benefit of this is that instead of manually or mass updating, future assets with the identified AII will be marked as critical by default, making asset replacement prioritizing easier and helping with streamline item/material reordering.

Navigate to the Company Options

To navigate to Company Options:
  1. Click Settings in the blue sidebar.
  2. Click Setup.
  3. Click Company Options.

Define Asset Critical Flag Parameters

To set the critical flag parameters for assets across the system:
  1. In the Company Options, click the AM Planning section for the domain you would like to modify
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Check off "Use Impact Index for Criticality of Asset."
  4. Select an operator, such as greater than (>) or greater than or equal to (>=).
  5. Enter the AII value.
  6. Click Save. The flag will be visible on critical assets that are listed on various records, such as work orders or service requests (see below).
