Add, Modify, and Delete Attachments - General Help

Attachments can be files or webpage links that you add to different records in NEXGEN to provide additional information. For example, users might attach a PDF of standard operating procedures or a video explaining how to perform a certain maintenance task. See below for instructions about how to add attachments to records within NEXGEN,

Add an Attachment to a Record

  1. Click + Add on the Attachments zone.
  2. Select how you would like to add an attachment and follow the steps below accordingly.

Option 1: Select File from your Computer

  1. Select file from your computer. 
  2. Add a description (optional). 
  3. Select file category (optional). 
  4. Click Save

Option 2: Add a URL to Attach a Webpage

  1. Paste URL address. 
  2. Add website name. 
  3. Enter description (optional). 
  4. Select a category (optional). 
  5. Click Attach Link.

Option 3: Add a File from the NEXGEN Document Library

  1. Select file(s) from document library. 
  2. Click Attach. 
Note: Documents are automatically added to the NEXGEN Document Library whenever they are uploaded to NEXGEN; conversely, you can also upload documents directly to the Library for upload to specific modules later. 

View, Download, or Delete an Attachment

  1. To view an attachment, click the file name link. 
  2. To download or delete an attachment, click the dropdown arrow on the attachment and select Download or Delete
Note: You will only be able to delete attachments from records if you have the appropriate permissions.
