The Replace Asset feature initiates a workflow in the system to generate a work order to replace the asset. At the close of the work order, a new asset record will automatically be created and the old asset will be made inactive.

Replace Asset

- Open the desired asset record.
- Click the Action button in the upper right hand corner.
- Select Replace Asset.
- A work order is created with the main task Replace. Enter the the Work Order details and click Save.
- Add any Resource, Parts, Misc Cost, etc. Note: All costs associated with Work Order will become the Purchase Cost for the new Asset.
- Change the work order status to Close.
- Select which asset details you would like copied over from the old asset to the new asset (Docs, Asset Attributes, Vendor, PdM, Image, Parts List, PM, QR Code).
- Click Copy Selected. Or, select Do Not Copy to create the new asset with none of the details copied.
Note - The replaced asset will keep the same name but have a - R and will become inactive. The new Asset will have the same name and number.
