Webinar Recording

Webinar Summary

In part one of this new feature webinar series, we covered changes to the 311 Portal, offline mode, approval routes, and condition assessments for the Contractor Portal. See below for more information.

New Features

311 Portal UI Changes

NEXGEN 311's UI is being updated with the new build. Here are the changes we're making:
  1. We've made an updated theme to better reflect NEXGEN's current branding.
  2. We've updated the UI to be more user-friendly (e.g., fewer clicks are required to submit a service request. Goodbye, Next button!).
  3. We've added an announcement banner to provide a space where you can display important messages or links.
  4. We now offer multi-language translation to make the 311 Portal more accessible to its users.

Offline Mode

Offline Mode has been updated for iPad and Android tablet. See our notes below.
  1. You can now cache data to make accessing offline mode easier.
    1. You can cache select assets or warehouse items on the Cache Data page.
    2. Caching data allows you to add assets and warehouse items even when you're offline.
  2. Schedule data caches: Set Asset Inventory and Warehouse Inventory data to cache on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Note: Caching data is currently only available for Asset Inventory assets and Warehouse Inventory items.

Approval Routes

Approval routes have been updated:
  1. There are three new flags in the Company Options: stock approvals, non-stock approvals, and agreement approvals. You can pick a combination of these approval options instead of using just one.
  2. Small UI changes have been done to the process of creating an approval route in Lookups.

Condition Assessments in the Contractor Portal

The Contractor Portal now supports condition assessments. Details:
  1. Like inspections, contractors can now fill out condition assessments from within the Contractor Portal app. These can also be submitted/marked as Complete via the app.
    1. Because condition assessments directly impact an asset's life, the option to close out condition assessments is not available for the app. Condition assessments will still have to be closed out from NEXGEN proper.
  2. The UI has changed to better communicate whether an item on a record, such as an inspection or a condition assessment, still needs to be done.
  3. When linked to an asset on a work order, condition assessments will appear as an icon next to their corresponding work order assets in the Contractor Portal.
  4. You can add comments for each score you give on a condition assessment via the Contractor Portal.
