Manage Asset Locations

Assets are organized in a location hierarchy tree. The location tree is customizable per client site. Learn how to add, edit, and delete locations. Also, learn how to change an asset's location.

 

Add New Location

  1. Navigate to the Asset Inventory Module. Click Assets > Asset Inventory.
  2. Drill down in the location tree to the level at which you would like to create the new location. 
  3. Right click on the location.

  5. Enter a Location Name.
  6. Assign an Account Number (optional). 
  7. Select a Map, Layer, and Unique Value to assign a location on the map.

Edit Existing Location

  1. Navigate to the Asset Inventory Module. Click Assets > Asset Inventory.
  2. Drill down in the location tree to the location you would like to edit.
  3. Right click on the location.
  4. Select Edit Location.
  5. Edit the desired fields.

Delete a Location

  1. Navigate to the Asset Inventory Module. Click Assets > Asset Inventory.
  2. Drill down in the location tree to the location you would like to delete.
  3. Right click on the location.

  5. Click Yes to confirm deleting the location.

 

Change an Asset's Location

There are two ways to change an asset's location:

 

Drag and Drop an Asset to a New Location on the Tree

  1. Locate the desired asset in the location tree. 
  2. Drag the asset and drop in the new location.Screen_Shot_2020-09-28_at_9.45.27_AM.png
  3. Click Yes to confirm the location change. 
 

Edit the Location Field on the Asset Record

  1. Open the desired asset record. 
  2. Click Edit on the asset information zone (top zone).

  4. Select the new location from the tree. 
  5. Click Save.
