Edit Notification Templates - NEXGEN 311

Notification templates help build out the email and text notifications that users receive if they decide to follow a 311 Service ticket. These templates are prebuilt into the NEXGEN site, but if desired, you can edit the text and merge fields (auto-filled text) in these messages to further customize them.

Navigate to the NEXGEN 311 Settings

To navigate to the Notification Templates section of your 311 Service settings:
  1. From the NEXGEN dashboard, click "Settings."
  2. Click "Integration."
  3. Click "311 Service."
  4. Click "Notification Templates."

Edit Notification Templates

NEXEGN notification templates for the 311 Portal are prebuilt and cannot be created or deleted, but you can edit notification contents if needed. To edit notification templates:

  1. Navigate to the Notification Templates section of the 311 Service settings.
  2. Click the pencil icon next to a notification template to edit it.
  3. Make the desired changes to the notification.
    1. Enter a new subject line, if needed.
    2. Adjust the notification content.
      1. Click the merge tags below the text box to insert them into the text. When the notification is sent to a recipient, the merge tag will auto-fill with the appropriate information (e.g. "ServiceRequestAddress" will populate with the address of the service request as was entered on the original SR form).
  4. Click "Save."
