Create a New Form - Form

A form (previously "inspection") is a record designed to assess various aspects of an asset similar to paper forms. These are created to collect data about an asset or to aid procedures such as safety checks. You can create two types of forms in NEXGEN: forms attached to an asset and forms that are not attached to an asset.

Create a Form with an Asset Attached

Creating a form from within the Form module will always require an asset. For steps on how to create a form without an asset attached, see "Create a Form with No Asset Attached" below.
  1. In the blue sidebar, click Asset > Form.
  2. Click +New.
  3. Select a form type in the pop-up and click +Add.
  4. Fill in the form information. Required fields are marked with red asterisks.
  5. Click Save.

Create a Form with No Asset Attached

Creating a form with no asset attached is done from the Work Order module. If you want to fill out a form without having to inspect an asset, follow the steps below. Otherwise, see "Create a Form with an Asset Attached" in the section above.
  1. Create or open a new work order.
  2. Click Action in the top right, then select Attach Form.
  3. Select the appropriate form.
  4. (Optional) Fill out the form. You can skip this step if you are planning and assigning the work order and not performing the inspection.
  5. Click Attach Form. The form has now been created. View the form by scrolling to the Form section of the work order.
