Configure Conditional Fields - Inspection

Configure Conditional Fields - Inspection

Conditional fields were introduced in NEXGEN as a way to improve data entry. By configuring conditional fields, end users can see more clearly which fields are necessary to be filled out in inspections.

Navigating to the User Defined Module

To navigate to the User Defined module:
  1. Click "Settings" in the blue task bar to the left.
  2. Click "Setup."
  3. Click "User Defined."

Configuring Conditional Fields for Inspections

Users can create conditional fields in inspection forms. To do this, users must first create all the fields they would like to include in their inspection and then, add their conditional logic. Before following the steps below, make sure all of your possible fields are added to your inspection.

  1. Navigate to your inspection forms configuration page.
    1. Settings > Setup > User Defined > Inspections Section
  2. Click the dropdown arrow for the field you would like to add conditional logic to and select “Edit”.
  3. On the slider that appears select the “Conditional Logic” tab at the top.
  4. If this is your first-time adding conditional logic to the field, click the "Add Logic" button, otherwise skip to step 5.
  5. Select a Parent Field value that will trigger fields to appear. (You must select a parent field value)
    1. If this value is entered for the chosen field, the system will allow a different field to appear.
  6. Click "Add" to identify the field or fields that will appear based on the parent field value.
  7. Select a zone and field from the drop-down menus.
    1. This will be the field that appears when you enter in the parent field value.
  8. Click the checkmark to save or click the “x” to cancel.

The conditional logic will now work on your inspection form. Fields included in conditional logic will not appear unless the designated parent field values are entered.
