Assign a Work Order Type to Work Order Task

Assign a Work Order Type to Work Order Task

Users can assign a type ( ie : corrective, preventive, etc.) to work order tasks.  I f a type is assigned to the main task and that type is selected when creating a work order, the main task field will only show tasks for that type – making it easier and faster to find the correct main task.

  1. Locate or create the main task to which you would like to assign a type. Click Settings > Setup > Lookups > Work Order > WO Task. Use department drop down fields if necessary.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to the task and select EditScreen_Shot_2020-01-31_at_10.41.55_AM.png
  3. Select the desired type from the Type dropdown field.
Note: Types can be modified in Settings > Setup > Lookups > Work Order > WO Type.Screen_Shot_2020-01-31_at_10.42.40_AM.png

NEXGEN Tip: If the same task is used for multiple types of work orders, either leave type unassigned or create duplicate tasks and assign types separately.
