Asset Inventory FAQs
How can I view a PDF version of an asset record?
Click Print in the top right corner of any record to generate a PDF version.
How do I view an asset's complete history in an asset record zone?
In the applicable zone, toggle the MTD or YTD setting to LTD. LTD stands for "Life To Date" and will set the zone to display the asset's complete history for the given attribute.
Incidentally, MTD and YTD stand for "Month To Date" and "Year To Date," respectively. Use these settings if you want to see the work order history/PM history/etc. of the asset for the past month or year.
What is Life, ARI, and ACI?
Life, ARI, and ACI can all be viewed within an asset's record.
Life, or "Useful Life," refers to the life expectancy of an asset in terms of performance. Useful life is configured at the class level within NEXGEN.
ARI stands for "Asset Risk Index." It is a risk score ranging from 1 (low risk) to 100 (high risk) that describes the likelihood and consequence of failure of the given asset. ARI is the product of the probability of failure (API) and the impact of failure (AII).
The ACI, or "Asset Condition Index," is a score assigned to an asset ranging from 1 (best possible condition) to 10 (worst possible condition). ACI is determined by asset age unless a condition assessment is performed on the asset, in which case the age based score is overridden by the new score resulting from the condition assessment.
You can click on an asset's ARI or ACI score in its record to be taken to the Risk module, which will display more information.
Where are the search bar and filters?
We updated the NEXGEN web app to allow for greater visibility for the search and filtering functions in the Asset Inventory module. The search bar and filtering options can now be found at the top of the screen. This change also allows for greater visibility for the hierarchy tree. which is handy for those with a lot of assets.
Clicking an asset doesn't bring up the full asset record. How can I view the full record?
To view an asset record in its entirety, click the asset name in the preview pane that appears when you click on the asset.
What is the new process tree for?
Previously, there were only two hierarchy trees available in NEXGEN: the Location tree and the Class tree. An update brought the addition of the Process tree, which is yet another way to organize your assets. The Process tree is useful for grouping assets that are involved in the same process — for example, cameras that are part of a building's security system, or a pipe that will down an entire cul-de-sac's water system if it is not functioning. For more on the Process tree, see this article:
