Add, Modify, & Delete Sub-Tasks on a Work Order

Sub-tasks are smaller tasks related to the main task. They are added to the Tasks zone of the work order and serve as  away to provide more specificity to the requirements of the work order. Completion, time, and cost can be tracked for each sub-task.

Add a Sub-Task to a Work Order

  1. Click + Add on the Tasks zone. 
  2. Choose a task from the Name dropdown.
    1. Note: Just like the Main Task field, this task list is filtered by the department and division fields on the work order if the task is tied to a specific department and/or division.
  3. Add a description.
  4. Select a start and end date.
  5. Click Save.

Complete a Sub-Task on a Work Order

To mark a sub-task as complete on a work order, either click the checkbox next to the appropriate sub-task or click the drop-down arrow next to it and select Complete.

Edit or Delete a Sub-Task from a Work Order

To edit or delete a sub-task that is listed on a work order record:

  1. Go to the Tasks zone.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow next to the sub-task.
    1. Click Edit to edit sub-task details.
    2. Click Delete to remove the sub-task from the work order.

 

Tip: If a sub-task has an associated checklist, you can add this to the checklist zone in the same way that you would add a checklist for the main task. For more on setting up checklists in Lookups, see this video.
